Prayer, Strength, Truth in God’s Word

Prayer For Battling The Mind

Father, I call out to you humbly seeking your face and not your hand. Your word promises that If we confess our sins, You are faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. I ask you to forgive me of my sins and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory.

Your word says that though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh; “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds” I thank you for leading me in the truth of your promises and your glory always so that my mind may never be taken captive by evil nor unwanted thoughts. I thank you for the unlimited strength you provide to help me to take every thought captive and cast down every proud thing that exalts itself against your truth.

Father your word says that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood but against the principalities and powers of darkness. I thank you that you have equipped me for this battle.

Let me never forget to put on the full armor of God so that I may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all to stand.

I thank you that my mind is gird about with the truth of your word.

I put on the breastplate of righteousness so that my heart may remain upright and rooted in your truth.

I thank you that my feet are shod with the preparation of the gospel so that I may be able to face the enemy with a firm-footed stability on the truth of the word.

I take up the shield of faith so that I may quench all the fiery darts of the enemy.

I place on the helmet of salvation and take up the sword of the spirit which is the word of God.

Lead me in divine truth as I read your word and meditate on it day and night. Help me to apply your Word in my daily life in all that I do so that I may stay on your divine path and let all your ways be established in every aspect of my life. I thank you for having eyes to see the enemy at work, lest I fall into evil’s tricks, traps, and snares set up for my destruction.

Lord, I want more and more of you until it’s all of you and none of me. I offer myself up to you as a living sacrifice of praise. Make your word flesh in me Oh God and help me to walk in nothing less than your perfect will.

In Jesus’s name I pray, Amen and Amen

Hope, Truth in God’s Word

There Is Always Hope

“For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the LORD, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

JEREMIAH 29:11 AMP

Honestly, ask yourself, have you ever felt like it’s all too much? Like the world is quaking and the walls are closing in and crumbling at the same time? It feels like the ground on which you’re standing is shaking violently. You want to run and hide. But where?? When It seems like God no longer loves you it can feel like you are being swallowed whole in black waters with no chance of rescue.

I’ve felt all these ways, more than once. I’ve found that this walk of life is hard. Really hard. Exhausting. Really exhausting. Sometimes I feel like I want to throw in the towel and lay down and die. But here’s the thing about “feelings”. Feelings come from our carnal senses which come from the flesh and not the spirit. The Bible says we are to walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). And here’s why: When you are serving the Lord and growing in your faith, the god of this world will do everything he can to throw you off your path. The more firmly you stand your ground, the harder he will try to knock you down! The enemy comes only to kill, steal, and destroy (John 10:10) your joy in the Lord and God-given inheritance of everlasting life. The enemy will whisper in your ear that it’s too late. That God doesn’t love you anymore. Just give up, there is no hope. But let me tell you what…THERE IS ALWAYS HOPE!!! And as long as God is the foundation on which you stand, it doesn’t matter how much shaking is going on, your ground will never crumble, give way nor crack!

I tell you this because I’ve lived it. I’ve been in that dark place far too many times to count. Where I truly “thought” that God had given up on me and that I was condemned and dammed to hell. I will tell you from personal experience, no matter how bad it seems in that moment, your vision is being skewed by the enemy!! IT IS NEVER TOO LATE!! It’s never too late to call out to Jesus! To cry out for His help! He will ALWAYS answer! He will ALWAYS reach out His hand and pull you from the wreckage!

It’s a stunning blow when you come out of whatever storm you were in to look back and realize: Wow! The situation that knocked you down wasn’t nearly as bad as it had seemed at the time. You find yourself wondering how something so small could have gotten so blown out of proportion or how you could have ever believed that God had abandoned you. You know that you know better than that! You know the truth! But that’s how the enemy works. He wants you to feel hopeless so you turn your back on God by making you think that God turned against you first. But the Lord is forgiving and good, abounding in love to all who call on Him (Psalm 86:5).

Have you ever had breakthroughs and moments of clarity where you wonder what in the world you were thinking!? Why did I act that way? Why am I so angry when I don’t want to be angry? Why did I lash out at the ones I love? Why did I make that poor decision or that one or that one? (And the list goes on and on…if I don’t stop here, I’d be writing this sentence all day!) Behaving in ways that are contrary to the truth of the Word means you are allowing the enemy in. You are giving him legal right, and that is a big no no! That was as hard to write as I’m sure it was for you to read. I know what you’re thinking because I’ve thought the same: But I’m not doing anything to let the enemy in!! Here’s the thing, you may not be doing anything to let him in but you’re also not doing anything to keep him out! Evil doesn’t knock on the door and wait patiently for you to let it in. No! Evil looks for cracks in the foundation to sneak in through. Sometimes it’s not until it finds a way in that you realize there was even an opening in that place!

This is why it’s so crucial to have a close relationship with the Lord, to truly know and live in the truth of His word. Let Him plant the seeds of His words in your heart, and water it every day with His Word, and don’t ever ever think it’s too late! Because God is faithful and just to all who call on Him!

I challenge you: next time you are going through a hard time where you “feel” all hope is lost to drop to your knees and cry out to the Lord for help. It’s not going to be easy to stand firm in your faith. It’s going to be hard but it’s going to be worth it! Your flesh is going to fight you every step of the way, but you can do this! You are more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus! (Romans 8:37)
